Matthias Stammler works as a Senior Engineer with Fraunhofer IWES. This role combines management and research. His main field of work are large slewing bearings, in particular the design of test procedures and wear tests. Matthias is the project leader of HAPT (Highly Accelerated Pitch Bearing Test), a publicly funded project that researches endurance tests for large bearings. Matthias completed his PhD in wind energy engineering in 2020. He has worked with IWES since 2013. Before this, he worked at positions in wind, aeronautic and automotive industry. He studied automotive engineering in Hamburg and Monterrey, Mexico.

Markus H. Zink did study electrical power engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, FHWS. From 2004 to 2005 he worked in the Research Center Karlsruhe (KIT) where he wrote his final thesis in the field of quench detection and high voltage insulation systems of superconducting magnets for fusion technology. After that he was working at Babcock Noell in Würzburg where he was a project leader in the R&D department for superconducting magnets. In 2010 he joined EnBW Kernkraft where he was employed for his PhD research, that he did in the area of ageing condition assessment of HV bushings. Since 2013 he is a professor at FHWS for electrical power engineering with the focus on high voltage technology and insulation systems. Since 2019 he is the leader of the Institut for Electrical Power Engineering and High Voltage Technology (IEHT) and the hig-voltage laboratory. His current research activities are manly focused on HVDC applications and are addressing the PD behavior under DC voltage and the electrical conductivity of dielectric liquids. He is member of CIGRÉ and VDE.

Thomas joined the Allianz Center for Technology (AZT) in 2010 as an technical expert for the mechanical drive train. His area of expertise are gearboxes, gearings, roller bearings und couplings. Main fields of activity are wind onshore/ offshore, conventional power plants and industrial applications. Additionally, he is covering the field of technical calculations (e.g. FEM, strength assessment, fracture mechanics, …) within AZT. Before joining the AZT Thomas was working at the Institute of Machine Elements/ Gear Research Center (FZG) at the Technical University in Munich receiving his doctor of engineering in 2010 (Title of thesis: “Einfluss von Korrekturen und Fertigungsabweichungen auf das Anregungsverhalten von Stirnräder”/ “Impact of modifications and tolerances on the excitation level of gears”). At the Technical University he was engaged in several research projects on components of the mechanical drive train. Prior to that he has been working for Eurocopter/EADS as an industrial engineer for two years after graduating as a mechanical engineer from the University for Applied Science in Regensburg in 2001.

Thomas joined Allianz Center for Technology (AZT) in 2000 as an technical expert for turbomachinery. His area of expertise is machinery diagnostics and damage investigations, especially on rotating equipment in the power generation industry. He uses the wide range of vibration analysis capabilities available in the AGCS subsidiary AZT to troubleshoot rotordynamic problems and is also consultant for vibration monitoring solutions. For root cause investigations AZT has available a material laboratory with extensive technical equipment as well as further experts from various disciplines. He is member of the advisory panel for conferences of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and chairman of the working group “measurement and evaluation of mechanical vibration of wind turbines” of the national standard committee VDI/ NALS. Related to vibration issues of turbomachinery he has performed and managed several comprehensive investigations on steam, gas and hydro turbines, as well as load measurements on wind turbine drive trains. Before specialising in machinery diagnostics at AZT he worked for 6 years at the turbine manufacturer MAN Turbo in Oberhausen as a service engineer for gas turbine units. He graduated in 1993 from the University of Dortmund with a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering.

After studying business administration, Mr. Wolf worked for more than 15 years in consulting and private equity financing of high-tech startups. His part-time doctorate was on the topic of equity financing of young technology companies at HHL Leipzig. After 5 years as managing director of a company in the field of corrugated cardboard processing, he founded CSC Bearing Europe GmbH in 2015 as the European subsidiary of the CSC Group. The CSC Group manufactures rolling bearings in medium sizes and has a global turnover of approximately 100 million USD. The focus here is on high-precision bearings. Together with a colleague, Markus Wolf is managing director of the three CSC companies located in Europe. Dr. Wolf also teaches at the University of Bamberg at the Chair of Financial Controlling.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ralf Christel lehrt an der Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften Würzburg-Schweinfurt Technische Mechanik und leitet das Labor für Festigkeitsuntersuchungen. Nach seinem Maschinenbaustudium promovierte er in der Fachgruppe Mechatronik und Dynamik der Universität Paderborn und am Institut für Dynamik und Schwingungen der Universität Hannover. Vor seiner Berufung war er langjährig in Leitungs- und Projektleitungsfunktionen im Anlagenbau und der Automobilzulieferindustrie tätig.

Vita
Nachdem Hagen Elgeti von 2000 bis 2003 an der RWTH Aachen Maschinenbau studiert hatte, war er bis Ende 2008 als wissenschaftlicher Angestellter am Institut für Maschinenelemente und Maschinengestaltung (IME) der RWTH tätig, wo er sich überwiegend mit schadhaften Antriebsstrangkomponenten aber auch mit umweltverträglichen Tribosystemen beschäftigte. Es folgte eine Beschäftigung als Geschäftsführer einer hochschulnahen Beratungsgesellschaft, an die sich die Gründung der Elgeti Engineering GmbH im November 2009 anschloss.
Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Geschäftsführer ist Hagen Elgeti in der Elgeti Engineering GmbH vor allem für die Entwicklung von Lieferanten verantwortlich.

Zur Überwachung von Temperatur und Drehzahl wird ein Sensor- und Energy-Harvesting-System mit drahtloser Datenübertragung aus dem Inneren von Wälzlagern vorgestellt.

Markus Pichler-Scheder studierte an der Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Österreich, wo er sowohl Diplom-, als auch Doktoratsstudium in Mechatronik abgeschlossen hat. Seit 2002 ist er beim Linz Center of Mechatronics beschäftigt, wo er derzeit Teamleiter für Signalverarbeitung in der Business Area Sensorik und Kommunikation ist. Seine Forschungsaktivitäten konzentrieren sich auf Signalverarbeitungsmethoden und -algorithmen, Optimierung, Schätztheorie, statistische Methoden, Positions- und Orientierungsschätzung, und Trackingfilter für Lokalisierungs- und Radarsysteme.

Before joining SKF worked for Siemens Transportation Systems and ALSTOM Transport mainly in the Railway Business as Project Director on International Assignments (i.e. USA, France, Sweden) for Delivery of Rolling Stock (i.e. X40 Double Deck Train for SJ Swedish National Rail) of Traction Power Substations and Catenary (i.e. Metro Valencia/Venezuela, Denver RTD, Houston Metro, various Projects with Deutsche Bahn AG). Together some 16 Years.

Vor seiner Tätigkeit bei SKF studierte Matthias Schmidt, Business Development Manager New Business Models bei SKF, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen. Seine Vertriebsaufgaben in den letzten 20 Jahren führten Matthias Schmidt von einer regionalen Vertriebsverantwortung zu einer globalen Vertriebsverantwortung für einen globalen OEM von SKF. Innerhalb der deutschen Vertriebsorganisation treibt Matthias zusammen mit einem agilen Team den Wandel der SKF hin zu einem Anbieter von kostenpflichtigen Leistungen voran.

Virtual Lab – Digital Twins of Test Rigs
Um die SKF Simulationssoftware zu verbessern, müssen wissenschaftliche Modelle kalibriert und validiert werden. Digitale Zwillinge von SKF Prüfständen in Kombination mit Messdaten von Prüfständen können die Modell- und Softwareentwicklung effizient unterstützen. Die Simulationssoftware wird später zur Modellierung von Kundenanwendungen eingesetzt. In der Präsentation werden drei Beispiele für solche digitalen Zwillinge gezeigt.

Verschiedene Positionen als Projektmanager, Anwendungsingenieur, Produktentwicklungsingenieur, Simulationsingenieur in der Produktentwicklung und seit 2018 als Knowledge Area Manager Performance Prediction.
Das „Performance Prediction“-Team stellt sicher, dass die richtigen Lager-Vorhersagemodelle, wie z.B. Lagerlebensdauermodelle oder verwandte Ausfallmodelle, entwickelt, kalibriert, validiert und in die richtige Software implementiert werden und den verschiedenen Benutzergruppen zur Verfügung stehen.
